The Kinky Apothecary’s Nigerian Natural Hair + Beauty Show (NNHB2016) Returns – 19.11.2016

Ladies, Naturalistas, hair aficionados, Kinky Apothecary’s NNHB (Nigerian Natural Hair + Beauty Show) is back!

On Saturday November 19th, 2016, The Kinky Apothecary’s Nigerian Natural Hair & Beauty Show: Nigeria’s first ever expo dedicated to healthy hair, beauty and lifestyle, returns for the second year.

In an environment where weaves and relaxers are celebrated, The Kinky Apothecary’s mission has been to change ideals of beauty in Nigeria and beyond by offering resources, products, inspiration and support to women who have taken a step in going against the mould. The Kinky Apothecary was the first Nigerian institution to officially kick off this movement in 2010, which quickly gathered momentum and has gained a large following throughout the country.

 In October 2013, the company launched Natural Hair Month- a month celebrating natural hair in Nigeria- as a way of shining the spotlight on our beautiful hair in all its glory.

The main focus of Natural Hair month was the Loving Your Hair workshop by celebrity stylist Felicia Leatherwood. Having styled stars such as Will Smith, Viola Davis, Teyonah Parris and Jill Scott over the last 20 years, Felicia is an expert on all things hair, and was so at home in Lagos that she’s returning for her 3rd year.

The concept was expanded last year to create The Nigerian Natural Hair + Beauty Show, Nigeria’s first ever expo dedicated to healthy hair care, beauty and lifestyle.

The Kinky Apothecary C.E.O Nibi Lawson stated “The first Nigerian Natural Hair + Beauty Show last year was beyond my wildest expectations! Working with a great team this year, we can’t wait to reveal something even bigger: a fun yet educational environment where people can relax, mingle, shop, but most importantly, learn”.
