Crystal Palace To Make Bid For Andy Carroll If Benteke Transfer Fails To Happen
Alan Pardew has hopes of bringing Andy Carroll to Crystal Palace if a move for Liverpool’s Christian Benteke falls through.
It is thought Liverpool will not accept anything less than the £32.5m they paid Aston Villa for Benteke last summer.
Carroll is believed to be keen to move on from West Ham after finally overcoming a string of injuries.
The Hammers have signed Swansea’s Andre Ayew as well as Argentinian Jonathan Calleri, so Carroll’s chances will be limited.
They are also chasing Lyon’s Rachid Ghezzal but face competition from Everton which would mean Carroll has even less chance of a regular start.
West Brom have now entered the race to land Belgium international Benteke which means that Palace have started to look at alternative targets.
